Terms and Conditions (English)

Mainstream Programmes

 

These terms and conditions are applicable to LCentral’s mainstream programmes, namely Foundations, LaunchPad, LiftOff Learn-to-Read, LiftOff Primary Practice, Success and CreativeWriting. Please refer to the lower sections for Other programmes.

Registration Fee

  • A non-refundable registration fee of $40.00(excluding GST) will be charged for each new enrolment.
  • Should a student be absent for a period of greater than 6 months and wish to re-enrol, this will be considered a new enrolment and a second registration fee will be charged.

Deposit

  • An enrolment deposit of $120.00 will be charged.
  • The deposit must be paid at the time of registration to secure and confirm the student’s placement in a class.
  • In the event a library book is lost, damaged or not returned, a flat charge of $10 per book will be deducted from the deposit.
  • The deposit will be refunded* if a student withdraws from the Centre subject to conditions. The deposit will be forfeited when these conditions are not met. (*Please refer to ‘Withdrawal’ section)

Course Fees and Payments

  • Payment of invoices must be made in full prior to the commencement of attendance.
  • Course Fees are charged on a term-by-term basis and are non-refundable.
  • Course Fees will be pro-rated for students starting classes mid-way through a term.
  • LCentral reserves the right to refuse attendance when payment has not been received after a second and final reminder has been issued.
  • LCentral reserves the right to charge an administrative fee of $10.00 for late or dishonoured payments.
  • All fees, amounts payable, promotions or discounts are determined by LCentral and individual centres are not able to vary these.
  • LCentral reserves the right to vary fees without prior notice.

Attendance and Scheduling

  • Classes are 90 minutes in duration.
  • Classes will not be scheduled on gazetted public holidays.
  • Parents / Guardians agree that their child / student will be dropped off and collected from the centre a maximum of ten minutes prior to the scheduled start of class and a maximum of ten minutes after the scheduled conclusion of the class. LCentral personnel will not be held responsible for students’ safety prior to their arrival and/or subsequent to their departure from the centre for their scheduled classes.
  • Specifically requested ‘One-to-one’ classes are 60 minutes in duration.
  • LCentral reserves the right to substitute or change teachers without prior notice.
  • LCentral reserves the right to combine, transfer or suspend classes without prior notice.
  • LCentral reserves the right to disallow student attendance at the Centre when their temperature is above 38ºC or when deemed too ill by Centre Staff.
  • In the event where classes are cancelled by LCentral, a Replacement Lesson will be scheduled. No further Replacement Lesson is offered when students fail to attend this Replacement Lesson. A Catch-up Session may be offered.
  • LCentral will not be liable to offer Replacement Lessons if a student fails to attend classes for reasons beyond the company’s control i.e. force majeure
  • LCentral and/or its licensed Centres cannot be held liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings at the learning centre.

Absence from class: Catch – up sessions

  • LCentral will make every effort to provide students with a Catch-up Session in the case of a student being absent from their regular scheduled class in a mainstream programme.

  • The ability of LCentral to offer such Catch-up Sessions will be subject to operational and staffing constraints and remains at the discretion of management.

    • Credit notes and/or refunds will not be offered to customers who do not accept any of the opportunities for Catch-up Sessions as offered by management.

Transfer

  • Customers are entitled to transfer between LCentral centres located in Singapore at any time.
  • To commence the transfer process, Customers must first approach their current Centre of enrolment to complete a Transfer form.
  • To facilitate the transfer, two lessons’ notice is to be served by the Customer with effect from the date of submission of the Transfer form. Failure to do so may result in the Enrolment deposit and/or course fees being forfeited.
  • Customers may be liable to pay the difference between the course fees originally paid and the current course fees at the time of transfer. In the event the course fees at the time of transfer are lower than the originally paid fees, a credit note will be issued for the following term’s course fees.

Withdrawal

Please don’t hesitate making an appointment to speak with your child’s teacher or a member of your centre’s staff if you have any concerns about your child’s literacy development.

  • A withdrawal application can only be made by completing the ‘Withdrawal Application form’.
  • A withdrawal application can be made at any time during a term. All withdrawals will only be processed at the end of each term according to the LCentral calendar.
  • An application must be lodged a minimum of two (2) of the student’s scheduled lessons prior to the end of the term or the initial enrolment deposit will be forfeited.
  • The deposit will be processed and refunded at the end of the term.

Other

  • LCentral and/or any of its associated companies may use images of customers or students for advertising or promotional purposes, including internet based promotions such as Facebook. The enrolling parent / guardian is to indicate their preference on the Registration form at the time of registration.
  • The enrolling parent / guardian is required to notify LCentral of any changes to their particulars as per the Registration form. All correspondence will be sent to the current mailing address and LCentral accepts no responsibility for undelivered correspondence.
  • LCentral reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions without prior notice.
  • LCentral reserves the right to provide student or parent / guardian details to other LCentral Learning Centres.

 

Other Programmes

 

These terms and conditions are applicable to LCentral’s Short Courses, Holiday Programmes and Other programmes. Please refer to separate page for mainstream programmes.

Registration Fee

  • No registration fee will be charged.

Deposits

  • No deposit will be charged.

Courses Fees and Payments

Transfer

  • Only students concurrently attending a Short Course and a Mainstream programme are entitled to transfer between LCentral locations within Singapore. In this instance, Customers should refer to LCentral Mainstream programmes Terms and Conditions.
  • Students attending only a Short Course, a Holiday programme or an Other programme are ineligible to transfer between LCentral locations.

Other

  • LCentral and/or any of its associated companies may use images of Customers or students for advertising or promotional purposes, including internet based promotions such as Facebook. The enrolling parent / guardian is to indicate their preference on the Registration form at the time of registration.
