EXPLORING NARRATIVES
Suitable for Primary 1, 2 and 3
(multi-level classes)
Following the Primary 3 Composition writing criteria as determined by MOE, Primary 1, 2 and 3 students work towards achieving Primary 3 writing outcomes. Students write a composition in narrative style based on a sequence of pictures or choice of three separate pictures.

- Composition writing with a set of three given pictures and topic word(s)

- Descriptive and figurative language
- Narrative Structure – Paragraphs
- Orientation
- Sequence of Events and Complication
- Resolution

- Proofreading and Guided Editing
UNDERSTANDING NARRATIVES
Suitable for Primary 4, 5 and 6
(multi-level classes)
Following the Primary 6 PSLE Composition writing criteria as determined by MOE, Primary 4, 5 and 6 students work towards achieving Primary 6 writing outcomes. Students write a composition in a narrative style based on a choice of three picture.
Course Outline:
- Composition writing with a set of three given pictures and topic word(s)
- Language Features
- Continuous writing style, first or third person perspective
- Descriptive and figurative language
- Narrative Structure – Paragraphs; linking of ideas
- Orientation
- Sequence of Events – developing the story line
- Resolution
- Conclusion
- Proofreading and Self-editing
Progress Tracking
Through ongoing outcomes-based assessments, teachers identify strengths and specific areas for improvement. The written comments (feedback) in WorkBooks guide your child to meet the learning outcomes as per the MOE Assessment Criteria, and also make the WorkBooks an ongoing record of the teaching and learning process that has taken place in the classroom.
With the combination of these effective methods of progress tracking, LCentral is able to provide comprehensive insights to you on your child’s progress, strengths and areas for improvement.

Frequently Asked Question about Our CreativeWriting Programme
How long is a semester? / How many classes in a semester?
Each term consists of 11 lessons, with each lesson lasting for 90 minutes.
What is the class size?
Up to 10 students are enrolled into each class.
To achieve their learning goals, children require individual attention from the teacher as well as opportunities to interact with their peers and be actively engaged in a positive classroom environment. Therefore, we offer small class sizes.
Can my child join any time or do they need to wait till a new term?
Our CreativeWriting programme is specifically designed with students in mind. This includes allowing them to enter at the most convenient time for them, even if that is not at the beginning of a term. This allows for greater flexibility and ensures that students can access our programme when they need to. In most cases, students can join at any time.
My child is weak in English. Will the class be too hard?
LCentral will conduct a comprehensive assessment to evaluate your child’s English proficiency before recommending the right programme to suit their learning needs.
Once enrolled in a class, LCentral teachers continually monitor each student’s performance and cater to their learning needs to keep them on track towards achieving their learning goals.
My little one is an introvert. How will LCentral teachers engage my child in the lessons?
Each child is unique and LCentral’s teachers are passionate educators who know how to bring the best out of each child. This includes developing their English language skills as well as their socio-emotional learning. By fostering a positive classroom culture and leading students in a variety of classroom activities, teachers create an environment where students feel comfortable and want to participate.

What if my child misses a class?
LCentral will make every effort to provide students with a catch-up session in case of their absence from their regular scheduled class in a mainstream programme provided that the requisite documents are submitted.
