A Burglary
A Burglary Model Composition 1
It was the dead of night. The Goh family were all sleeping soundly in their beds.
Unbeknownst to them, a cunning burglar had entered their home through a broken window. He crept silently through the house, careful not to wake anyone up. He scanned the rooms for anything valuable and set his sights on a large chest of drawers in the far corner of the living room.
The burglar worked his way through the drawers quickly and skilfully, grabbing anything and everything that could sell for a decent price. Filling up his sack, the burglar made a quick escape through the open window and into the darkness of the night.
The next morning, the Goh family was horrified to discover their house in a mess. Their belongings were strewn across the floor and thousands of dollars worth of valuables were nowhere to be found. Immediately, Mr Goh dialled the police and made a report.
Fortunately, the police were able to quickly identify and track down the burglar, thanks to the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras that were installed in the streets near their house. The burglar was caught and their valuables returned to them.
The Goh family never slept with their windows open again. They learnt that it was better to be safe than sorry, and prevention is definitely better than cure.

The house was quiet, save for the light snoring coming from the adjacent bedrooms on the upper floor. John and his family were sleeping soundly in bed, unaware of what was to come.
Downstairs, a masked burglar had crept into the house through a living room window. The burglar had done his homework. He had surveyed the houses in the area and noticed the broken lock on the Lee family’s window, which made their house an easy target.
The burglar knew he had no time to waste. Scanning the living room, his eyes lit up at the sight of a large chest of drawers. From his experience, he knew that this was where valuables could be found.
Jackpot! The burglar was thrilled to find Mrs Lee’s collection of diamond jewellery, a limited edition gifted to her by Mr Lee during their wedding anniversary. He swiped the jewellery and a wad of cash. In no time at all, the burglar’s sack was filled to the brim and he made a quick escape from where he came.
The following morning, Mr and Mrs Lee were devastated to find their house in an awful mess. Mr Lee rang up the police immediately and filed a report on the burglary. Fortunately, the burglar was caught pawning off the jewellery and swiftly apprehended by the police. Most of their valuables were recovered and returned although some of the cash had already been spent.
The Lee family learnt to never put off till tomorrow what they can do today. They called for a locksmith and got the lock on their window repaired.
